Mactac’s 5798MBF is a 3.1-mil translucent matt dusted polymeric PVC film designed for solvent-based ink jet printing. The product is coated on one side with a micro-structured ,repositionable, permanent, clear acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive and is supplied with 80# Polycoated, layflat liner. The micro-structured adhesive allows for the increased speed of dry application on windows with no air bubbles or wrinkling. It also eliminates the messy clean up of wet-application fluids. JT 5796BF is designed for indoor and outdoor window graphics.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
FACE MATERIAL : 5 year polymeric calendered vinyl80 µ translucent matt dusted polymeric PVC film
ADHESIVE : Micro-structured repositionable permanent acrylic.
LINER : PE coat liner 130 gsqm backprinted BF series.
TYPICAL USES
Long term outdoor & indoor decoration of windows (restaurants, museums, showrooms, shopping malls,
etc).
Product benefits : dry application at it’s best!
A patented performance feature enabling the Applicator of the printed decal to apply much faster and to limit the risks of
wrinkles and entrapped air bubbles generally associated with the application of large format decals.
BF series therefore save time by increasing productivity during the application job. The micro-structured repositionable
adhesive system allows the installer to remove and re-apply the decals during the job. It is possible to press out small
entrapped air bubbles with ease!
As a result : A great looking job!
PRINTING
Especially designed for solvent based & UV inkjet printing on wide-format printing equipment.
To achieve the best possible print quality, please make sure that the correct ICC profiles or printer settings are used.
Profiles can be obtained from our Subsidiaries, Distributors or can be downloaded from www.mactac-europe.com
Printer & Heater settings and ICC profiles are also downloadable from some of the OEM’s web sites.
Important notice : It is CRITICAL that any digital prints are TOTALLY DRY before application. While this is important for
all films in the JT 5000 range it is even more important for the special tack system of JT 5798M BF.
If the film is not dried sufficiently the vinyl and adhesive will still be full of solvents which change the properties and
consequently the behaviour of the film. The customer will therefore not benefit from the bubble free effect enough to reduce
application time. It can also cause adhesive residue to be left behind and lack of repositionnability.
This is also important when laminating the printed decal.

DURABILITY
The outdoor durability of the unprinted film is 5 years.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Always test the combination of JT 5000 products, inks and laminating films prior to commercial use.
Printing conditions
A conditioned pressroom, ± 23°C and 50 % R.H.
Transportation conditions
To allow easy transportation, IMAGin JT series can be rolled up, with the image on the outside, with a minimum
diameter of 15 cm (for example on a 6 inches core).
Make sure that the print is perfectly dry before rolling it over. To avoid exposing the print to any liquid aggressions,
prints should be protected by a plastic bag. During the transport or storage of the prints, avoid exposing them to
extreme temperature and humidity variations.
GENERAL REMARK : factors affecting adhesion
To ensure application suitability - always test the proposed construction under actual application and end-use conditions before
going into full production.
The following factors will adversely affect adhesion of a pressure-sensitive adhesive:
* Dusty, dirty, oily or oxidized surfaces
* Mould release agents on blow-moulded plastic surfaces
* Low surface energy substrates, such as: polyethylene, polypropylene...
* Application below the minimum application temperature or use outside of the recommended service temperature ranges.
